Dan Ross and the Salvation Army Texas Gulf Coast Area Band

March - Keep Singing

Ottawa Temple Band - Canada

Lyrics

Sing on in sunny days
Sing on in darkened ways
Sing! Sing! Sing!
Sing on His name is love,
Sing on He reigns above,
Sing! Sing! Sing!

Things are different now, something's happened to me
since I gave my life to Jesus
Things are different now, something's happened to me
since I gave my heart to Him
Things I did before have all passed away
Things I love far more are now here to stay
Things are different now, something's happened to me
since I gave my heart to Him

This march was a favoirite of the Timbrels AND the band. It's easy and gets a great response from the audience.

Texas Timbrels in Mexican Children's Home

Hey, what did you expect? It gets HOT in Mexico!

It's hard work playing a Salvation Army tambourine!

The Timbrel uniforms made for the "Dickens on the Strand Festival" could be used in other venues too.

With a crowd of around 250,000 people, we would have a concert in one spot with the full band and trimbrels,

then we would split up into five or six small ensembles and have a band on every street corner.

Each ensemble was accompanied by one or two timbrelists to maintain the proper "Dickens" clothing rule.

The tambourine could also be used as a collection plate for collecting offerings.

I consider the tambourine to be an essential instrument for a Salvation Army band.
