The Salvation Army Texas Gulf Coast Area Band - Spirit

Since Jesus

Texas Divisional Youth Band

Lyrics

What a wonderful change in my life has been wrought
Since Jesus came into my heart!
I have light in my soul for which long I had sought,
Since Jesus came into my heart!

Refrain

Since Jesus came into my heart,
Since Jesus came into my heart,
Floods of joy o’er my soul
Like the sea billows roll,
Since Jesus came into my heart.

I have ceased from my wandering and going astray,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And my sins, which were many, are all washed away,
Since Jesus came into my heart!

Refrain

I’m possessed of a hope that is steadfast and sure,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And no dark clouds of doubt now my pathway obscure,
Since Jesus came into my heart!

Refrain

There’s a light in the valley of death now for me,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And the gates of the City beyond I can see,
Since Jesus came into my heart!

Refrain

I shall go there to dwell in that City, I know,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And I’m happy, so happy, as onward I go,
Since Jesus came into my heart!

Refrain

Love Lifted Me

I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore,
Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more,
But the Master of the sea, heard my despairing cry,
From the waters lifted me, now safe am I.

Refrain

Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help
Love lifted me!

All my heart to Him I give, ever to Him IÕll cling
In His bless¸d presence live, ever His praises sing,
Love so mighty and so true, merits my soulÕs best songs,
Faithful, loving service too, to Him belongs.

Refrain

Souls in danger look above, Jesus completely saves,
He will lift you by His love, out of the angry waves.
HeÕs the Master of the sea, billows His will obey,
He your Savior wants to be, be saved today.

Texas Band Banquet

At the end of the year, Major Frierson held a dinner for the families of members of The Salvation Army Texas Gulf Coast Area Band.

Texas Band Banquet

The dinners weren't REAL fancy, but we had fun and fellowship without worrying about what we were going to play next.

Texas Band Banquet

Tony was our muscle in the band. His wife was our Principle Solo Cornet player. He's on yuour left. The others were corps officers in the Houston Area.

Texas Band Banquet

Some of these people I couldn't recognize because I had never seen them in "civilian" clothes. This is the wife of one of our officer bandsmen. This annual event was just about the only meal we ever ate together that didn't involve a concert or band practice during the meal.

Tell your Salvation Army friends about this website. Chapter Ten about our Seattle Temple Corps Experience is going to be very interesting, but you have to read every chapter in order to understand Chapter 10. You won't be disappointed.
